Le Vent du Nord announce personnel changes – farewell Simon Beaudry, welcome André Gagné!

We are happy to announce a new arrival in the band: André Gagné. From March 2024, he replaces Simon Beaudry who has left to pursue new projects. Simon, who has been with the group since 2004, leaves with the band’s very best wishes and will be sorely missed.  André, also known as Dédé, so as not to be confused with fellow member André Brunet, has been a long-time friend of the group. A singer, guitarist and bouzouki player, Dédé will bring his own particular dynamism and repertoire from his village of St-Côme, known for being the capital of traditional Québec song. As founding member Nicolas Boulerice reports “We are really super excited about his arrival and looking forward to introducing him to you.” Fellow band member Olivier Demers says: “The arrival of Dédé signifies the start of a new chapter for the group. His powerful voice and engaging guitar playing will undoubtedly bring a new colour to the group, a new breath.” Dédé joins fellow band members Nicolas Boulerice, André Brunet, Réjean Brunet and Olivier Demers as they set off on a tour of Belgium in March 2024. The tour will culminate with a special London gala concert on March 25 to celebrate Songlines magazine’s 25th anniversary. Le Vent du Nord were recipients of a Songlines Music Award in 2023 for their album 20 Printemps, their 12th release since launching in 2002.
