From March 25 through May 9, 2026, Québec’s trailblazing progressive folk quintet Le Vent du Nord is heading south this spring, bringing their new album Voisinages - and a brand-new show to match - to 15 cities across the US, from the Great Lakes to the Pacific Coas
“Quebec folk band Le Vent du Nord are one of the most exciting and energizing live acts on the traditional music circuit. At a time when the US is turning its back on its neighbors from the north, Le Vent du Nord’s call for more openness and reconciliation; an invitation to be more neighborly, couldn’t be more timely.” - ArtsFuse (Boston)
Voisinages - loosely translated as neighbourhoods - is the band’s 13th album and their most assured to date. “The undisputed flagship of trad keb reaches great maturity here, without compromising any of its achievements and strengths; the album’s central theme is interculturality: the living exchange between the Irish, Scots, Acadians, Cajuns, and Americans whose traditions have long shaped and enriched Québec’s musical identity.” writes Alain Brunet in PAN M 360 (Québec).
Their live show - staged by celebrated Québécois storyteller Michel Faubert - promises the rousing, life-affirming experience that has made Le Vent du Nord one of the most beloved acts on the international folk circuit. Five voices in harmony, foot tapping, hurdy-gurdy, bouzouki, jaw harp, fiddles and accordion - an invitation to discover that traditional music from here is rich, lively and inventive.
“Le Vent du Nord are not only excellent musicians and singers; they are also consummate performers. Even without speaking French-Canadian, you can appreciate the emotion and sometimes the humour in the stories. In this day and age, the music of Le Vent du Nord is just the tonic we need, and Voisinages provides it.” - Tom Povey RnR Magazine (UK) ★★★★★
“Le Vent du Nord keeps their music both dignified and commanding. Their alluring je ne sais quoi revolves around masterful musicians providing snappy instrumentals, evocative vocals, rousing responses in sweet, tasteful, dynamic musical arrangements full of soul and spirit.” - Roots Music Report ★★★★★
“Ripple Center founders Dwight and his partner first discovered the band at the Season Opener of Prairie Home Companion at the Fitzgerald Theatre in St. Paul in 2011. ‘We were immediately enamored with their music. Sometimes you hear a performance that touches your heart and soul and you never forget it. That’s how it has been with us and Le Vent du Nord.’” - The Brainerd Dispatch (MN)
An evening of deep roots, open arms, and music that stays with you long after the last note fades - because the world is always better when the neighbours get together. The door is open - grab your tickets.
