Since 2013, Le Vent du Nord has been participating in the Arts Midwest program in the United States. For 18 weeks, we were welcomed into 18 small communities in 9 states of the Midwest.
On Saturday, April 29th this great adventure ended, with a last concert of the “Arts MidWest World Fest Tour” at The Murphy Theater in Wilmington, Ohio. Over the past 4 years, Le Vent du Nord has met more than 50,000 peoples, through workshops (over 190!!!) for people of all ages and all social classes as well as public concert halls. By doing this program, visiting thousands of children, teenagers, seniors, indigenous in order to let them know our music, our Quebec culture, the band has had an amazing human experience. Thank you very much to Ken Carlson who convinced us to embark on this journey. Thanks to all of the team, and to all the people who are passionate about the culture of the 18 communities we met and who are involved in these activities. This idea of opening oneself to the other and sharing our difference is admirable. Nicolas, Simon, Réjean, Olivier, François and Jean-François greet you and will keep fond memories in memory!
